Veteran’s day November 14, 2009

I know that Veteran’s day has already come and gone but my computer is acting on the fritz. To my daddy dearest, thank you for your 22 years of service in the U.S. Army. To My uncle LeeRay, who i got my middle name from, thank you for fighting for us in desert storm and for your service in the Marines! Uncle Tony, thank you for your service in the U.S. Army.

My two brothers, LCPL Corey Dustin Price and Cody Uriah Impson.

LCPL Price, thank you for going to Iraq and fighting for us. Thank you for all you do in the U.S. Marines.

Big Brother Cody! You may have been MIA for a few months now, but you are always in our hearts and prayers. Can’t wait until you get home state side! Thank you for joining the U.S. Marines.

And to all the rest of those brave military men and women fighting to keep us the land of the free, thank you for all you do. Our hearts lift up to God in prayer for the safe return of each and every one of you!

Anatomy and Physiology-11 November 9, 2009

Okay, so my computer broke down there for awhile. Sad time for me. Anywho, today our teacher decided that we are no longer going to do take-home tests because too many of our answers were matching the key. Way I see it, we betrayed her trust and what we got was not as harsh as what we should have gotten. I think I might still do the take-home test that she already gave us, because they really do help. We have now started the cardiovascular system. I created a rap for the blood flow through the heart, which I created my sophmore year! I really like the cardiovascular system because it’s not that difficult for me. I made a game board for my six weeks project about the blood flow through the heart. Quite fun indeed! Anatomy and Physiology-10 October 27, 2009

Okay so we were about to take our skull quiz in class today. I was all excited and pumped- because I’m just that weird- but wouldn’t luck have it, my mom signed me out. So unfortunately, didn’t get the chance to do it. Hey, little more study time though, right? This upcoming friday, our third take-home test is due. Ugh…nerve wracking. Some of the answers are not quite simple to find. Just keep trucking though. So yeah there it is, until next time.

Anatomy and Physiology-9 October 22, 2009

So I have been working quite hard on our new take home test. Last time in class we took a test on the skeleton system. Studied for barely three minutes and I know I still missed a few. But that’s okay, I don’t mind. We took notes on the skull after that and played some bingo with what we learned. Coming monday, we take a labeling quiz on that. Eeek! But yeah I’m still having fun learning everything in both anatomy and my medical terminology class. Awesome fun! Until next time.

Anatomy and Physiology-8 October 16, 2009

Okay, so we have started a new chapter, the bones. yea! We got another take home test, which are rather quite hard. We’ve had two guest speakers. One a pharmacist and the other a dermatologist technician or something like that. Quite fascinating stuff. Everything I am learning so far is really making me think hard about the future. Ooo ooo, okay so I finally found out why chemo patients loose their hair. Cancer cells and hair cells are both rapidly reproducing cells. Chemo therapy targets and destroys all rapidly reproducing cells, i.e. cancer and hair cells. Causing all hair to fall out! pretty amazing stuff right? Until next time.

Anatomy and Physiology-7 October 7, 2009

Okay so last week I was very sick. I had a temperature of 102 and stuff like that. I won’t go into full detail. But I didn’t get a chance to learn a whole lot. Our six weeks projects were due. Did you know that the human skin weighs 6 lbs!! Insanium in the Cranium, right? Speaking of cranuims, the brain weighs 3 lbs. So the next time you step onto that scale, you can subtract 9 lbs! Anatomy and Physiology-5 September 22, 2009

Hello my fellow homosapiens!! Did you know that viruses are forever? That’s right, you can never get rid of a virus no matter what. Little disturbing because that means that there is a chance of it coming back… I think. Anyways, today in anatomy and physiology I learned that when the chicken pox virus comes back after being dormant in the body, it comes back as shingles. So yeah, I found that quite interesting. Okay something I learned last week. One of my teachers told me of a story about somone who had the skin on their hands burned off or something of the sort. So what the doctors did was cut pockets into the abdomen and casted the hands into the pockets. She said that they could move their hands and you could see into the abdomen. Pretty crazy stuff. Anyways, the skin of the abdomen grew onto the hands. They cut the hands out of the abdomen and now the abdomen scar is on the back of the hands!! That’s insanium in the cranium, right!! Anatomy and Physiology-4 September 18, 2009

Okay so in another exciting day of anatomy and physiology, we turned in our first take home tests. Which, even though I didn’t completely finish, still made me feel pretty good. Because all the answers are truly my own work and I didn’t cheat off anyone at all! Very happy about that!! Last class I wasn’t there, but I managed to get caught up, got another take home test. Now for some fascinating facts, well actually only one, but whatever. The odor that is supposedly from sweat, actually isn’t from sweat. The odor comes from bacteria eating the sweat!! EWWWW! Lol, I found that to be quite interesting, though. because I’m weird like that. So until next time!

Anatomy and Physiology-3 September 14, 2009

Okay so today in the amazing class of anatomy and physiolgy, girls talked about hairstyles, many people needed to use the restroom, we watched treeman and the girl who cries blood, took tissue practical, and began chapter 4 notes.  Chapter 4 is about the skin and body membranes. Pretty exciting, right?! So here’s something that I didn’t know, skin is actually called cutaneous membrane. Crazy right? But oh, so much fun. Well that’s pretty much all for today.
